How one thought can spiral into a series of aligned actions
You never know where a divine spark can lead you
Hello, hi, and AHHHHHH, I'm so excited!! This is my e-version of shouting at the top of my lungs on the rooftop!
🎉 “IT…. IS…. LIVE!!”! 🎉
Yes, after a few days of ughs, ahhhs, and holy shits, my guided journal, Love Vision Clarity is now available on Amazon. (Yes, finally all 3 versions!)
Here’s my story of how one little thought unfolded to this whirlwind journey I’ve experienced this week, along with learnings I didn’t expect.
Unbeknownst to me initially, this guided journal has been in the making for a few years until I collected all the necessary breadcrumbs to arrive at the aha moment to officially create this journal.
*breadcrumb*
I’ve been fascinated with journals, and have wanted to design one of my own.
*breadcrumb*
I’ve been itching to write a second book but wasn’t sure on what yet.
The unexpected tipping point was a driveby conversation with a woman who was just complimenting the dress I was wearing. We continued chatting when she mentioned that she was launching her own workbook to inspire women to go for what they want in their life. (I loved that concept because that is exactly the journey I went through myself.)
The seed started to germinate.
I continued on with the awesome conference, happily flew back home, and started reflecting upon the event as I usually do to capture reflections, learnings, and a list of action items going forward.
…and that’s when it hit me!
Creating a guided journal is the perfect thing to bring together all the things I wanted to and have developed. It was the missing piece I’ve been searching for this ENTIRE time.
Everything started to fall into place
When it feels aligned, massive action follows. Instead of thinking about Thanksgiving, I was making plans to launch this guided journal before another holiday in February. It was just a thought in my head, so this plan felt insane! I had to vet the idea and timing with a close friend to make sure I wasn’t overcommitting to something improbable. Ok, it was still a little crazy, but I went for it anyway.
And get this: the Universe also created the space for me to hunker down and get this done (aka I caught covid and had to self-quarantine in my bedroom for 12 days until I tested negative twice.)
I was able to pull together this entire journal with time here and there within 5 weeks⎯yup, writing and designing the whole thing!
Trust the synchronicities
When you get inspired by an idea, freaking go for it!
Momentum was building in ways I didn’t even expect. Opportunities were coming to me. Support and encouragement was overwhelming. Ideas were inspiring me in waves. I was motivated to take actions like I had a fire lit under me.
When the Universe lines up to support you, keep going and avoid letting your doubts, fears, and unknowns dampen your momentum in any way.
I had all of that, including pure freak out moments when I had to just pause. I wanted to do so much in a short amount of time. Adding my recovering-perfectionism to that mix led me to push myself to exhaustion during this launch week.
The lessons
1 - Adapt on the go
Whatever you’ve planned in the beginning isn’t going to unfold exactly like so, especially if it’s the first time you're doing something. I’ve learn to adjust my plans and expectations. I refocused on getting things done versus desiring to replicate that perfect delivery from my imagination.
As you take action, you’ll start noticing which tasks should have more priority and which you just have to postpone to a future version of your project. Trust your intuition and don’t overthink decisions you’ve already made. Continue adjusting the plan as you go.
2 - Overestimating how much can be done and underestimating how much time it really takes
Time management was a massive lesson I had to learn and readjust to. It was like I had amnesia of how long certain tasks would take me. I underestimated the time it took, then I’d get frustrated on how many hours just melted away. I’d want to get so much more done, then that just increased the frustration even further.
I was self inflicting all this pain upon myself. I had to learn how to grant myself tons of compassion and patience through this process. I had to give myself permission to taking periodic mental and physical breaks. Oh, were there A LOT of deep breaths taken.
3 - The dives into unexpected rabbit holes
Tasks can balloon into greater projects. Doing this one task often had numerous other tangential things that had to get done as well.
Learning how to do something for the first time also meant research, which could turn into another rabbit hole time sink, too.
None of these rabbit holes weren’t in your plan initially, so be sure to factor some of that buffer time into your planning in the future!
4 - Plan in your rests, too.
It’s so easy to plan all the things you have to do, but how often are you planning in your rest as well?
As an entrepreneur, it’s so easy to just spend a bit more time or get this one last thing done. Then hours go by—you haven’t eaten, you’ve missed out on valuable sleep, and you neglected your own self care and time with loved ones.
No matter what, for your own mental and physical well-being, you still have to tend to the other areas of your life… even when it feels like work should take precedence.
5 - Celebrate!
Celebrate your wins. Celebrate all the things you did to make this happen. Celebrate your ability to be determined, focused, resilient, and driven. Celebrate achieving your milestones and goals!
…and let me celebrate my book launch with you in the following ways:
I did a poll with my audience to see which color title they preferred for my cover. Teal won out by ONE vote. And because someone commented “why not both?”, it made me reconsider “well, yah, why not?!”. So I decided to launch the red version as a limited edition color just for the book launch and Valentine’s Day.
Download the free kindle version to get a peek into what this journal is all about, get started on the process, and hopefully it inspires you to purchase a physical one (which is obviously the best way to experience a journal, right?)
Let’s get this guided journal in more hands for Valentine’s day, so I’m offering the kindle version for FREE between Mon Feb 13 - Weds Feb 15, 2023. So share this special offer with your friends, family, neighbor, coworker, social network, or anyone else you think would benefit from my guided journal.
I want as many people as possible to learn and evolve the way they approach dating―single in the process of finding a partner and also those in the early stages of dating and a relationship trying to vet whether the person they’re with is a good fit for them. This guided journal can support you with all that.
So please help me share this widely. Let’s help more people manifest and cocreate their dream relationship this year!!
Thank you for being a part of its (and my) journey and development.
Cheers to going for your goals and see what your divine spark inspires you to do!
